Public Speaking can be frightful for teens. But in the Simpson Speakers program, we make learning public speaking exciting! Participants take part in fun and challenging exercises that forces them to leave their comfort zone.
No one can run away from speaking to people forever because it is a part of our everyday life. We speak in our homes, at school, at work, and even when we travel. Allowing your teenagers to practice public speaking is a great way for them to learn how to express themselves with clarity and confidence.
In the Simpson Speakers public speaking program, teens learn how to:
* Start conversations * Answer questions
* Handle nervousness * Give their peers effective feedback and more
This program aims to bring out the confident person hiding inside your teenager. What are you waiting for? Register your teens now and watch their confidence grow!
I am K. Simpson. Teenagers fear public speaking the same way adults do. I noticed this while serving as a Public Speaking Instructor to teenagers, for 14 years. Many of my young students were shy, afraid to speak in front of others, and got nervous. I experienced some of these problems during my younger days and could relate to them.
I started to practice public speaking, and became more confident. I trained staff at work, delivered speeches, debated, and was able to help many teenagers boost their confidence over the years. I am a Distinguished Toastmaster and a current member of a debate club. I also serve as a debate judge for the Queens College Debate Society.
In 2020 I started coaching public speaking to teenagers and adults. However, I realized that I enjoyed teaching teens about public speaking so they could gain confidence and find their voice. This led to the formation of Simpson Speakers, an eight-session public speaking program for teenagers.
